You will find it with Where's My Droid, a mini-app (a bit more than 600k) that will help you to find your smartphone or tablet thanks to the remote access from Internet and the geolocalization by GPS, which you can use from the web of the app or from another smartphone. First, you have to check if it is close to you. Make it sound in a distance so the signal of sound reaches you and leads you to its position. If you cannot hear anything, your mobile has to be far. Use the incorporated GPS to know the localization of your Android in Google Maps,; if it is not in a place where you may have left it, it may be in hands of someone else.
You can send a message to the mobile to show who has it that you are looking for it and the way in which it can be sent back. If the one who has found it has this intention, you will recover your mobile really fast. If, on the contrary, your mobile has been intentionally stolen, protect the apps with passwords so this person cannot make changes inside your Android.
Where's My Android will send you notifications if someone changes the the SIM in your mobile or the phone number and it puts at your disposal the Stealth Mode, which substitutes the text messages that get to your mobile for the message you want that the person who has it sees.
The Pro version of Where's My Droid, to which you can update from the same free app, includes other interesting and useful options, like the one with which you can block your device remotely, delete the information of your SIM and/or your SD card and the possibility to take picture remotely with the frontal and back cameras of your mobile to help you identifying where it is or who has it.
